Thank you everyone for all the thoughts and prayers for Beckett and us as well. I am spending every moment possible right next to his bed. Jonny is giving updates on his page as best we can. Again thanks for the overwhelming support during this challenging time!
Looks like the surgery will be Wednesday (1/2/13) morning beginning at around 7:30am-8:00am. It’ll be about 4-5 hours long…
I just want everyone to know that we’ve been reading every comment and every post and greatly appreciate you all. I really do think Leah ‘Whiteley’ Rupp and I do have the best family and friends ever! (Ephesians 3:20-21)
Update on Beckett:
My lil man has what’s called Hypo Plastic Left Heart Syndrome (something you can just have at postpartum – 1 out of 1000). The left side of his heart is too small to pump the blood to his body. He will be having surgery on Wednesday to put in a shunt to redirect the blood flow to where it needs to go. He will need another surgery when he is about 4-6 months and then another one when he is about two years old. This first surgery is going to be the hardest and the most risky (about 70% survival) and then the healing period between the first and second surgeries is going to be very difficult as well and closely monitored. Thank you all so much for your prayers and support as this has certainly been a very challenging time for us. — with Leah ‘Whiteley’ Rupp.
Though I know some of you do not believe in a god or even the same god I do, but I’m asking for prayer for my newborn son, Beckett. We were waken early this morning with some troubling news that he needs to have surgery on his heart today. You can tell that he is a strong lil man, but it’s hard not to be scared during a time like this. Isaiah 41:1 Thank you! — with Leah ‘Whiteley’ Rupp.
