UPDATE (1/6/13)

Beckett Jude is doing ‘great’ (I feel that quotes are necessary being that he is still on Ecmo and his chest has not yet been closed)! Additionally, he’s been doing so well that they began weaning him off the machine earlier today (whereas they were going to be waiting to begin that process until Monday or Tuesday). We are so encouraged, yet understandably nervous, as we enter this next stage. I hope that I continue to bore you all with these non-dramatic updates of slow continual progress. This has been such an answer to prayer as his recovery has been such a testimony to the Lord’s grace and sovereignty to us as a family. I will continue to strive to keep posting updates as these next few days may be difficult….but we are certainly praying for a smooth 48 hours (and beyond). — with Leah ‘Whiteley’ Rupp at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
