UPDATE (1/16/12) -goodnight (I hope)-

Sorry y’all…I just noticed that its already about 10:30pm and I haven’t posted anything yet for an update. Beckett is ‘stable’, but he keeps having lil episodes where his heart rate begins beating erratically (it is exhausting and quite scary to watch). But he’s hanging in there and is doing ‘ok’.

We also got the results of his MRI, which in short was also ‘ok’ (could have been a lot worse, they are saying). He does have one blood clot that they are treating (which can be fairly serious), but overall his brain looks quite good. We are very pleased, but that clot will need to be closely monitored and treated.

Lastly, we need to keep an eye on his ‘bleeding’ from his chest. His chest is still closed and has continuous minor bleeding from it. Now he’s on heparin (a blood thinner), for his blood clot in his brain, so that may hinder (or slow down) his chest from healing.

It’s been a crazy day and very exhausting….but Beckett is still here and is still fighting. Please pray for a great night of ‘healing’ and rest. — with Leah ‘Whiteley’ Rupp at Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.
